Limit Values of Concentration and Cut-Off Value
The limit values of concentration are the main factor for the classification of substances or mixtures, and therefore are significant regarding the preparation of Savety Data Sheets. Generic limit values of concentration are mentioned in the CLP Regulation. However, in some cases manufacturer may determine the more specific limit values of concentration under their own responsibility. Often further substances are added to already existing substances or mixtures. Should the additive turn out to be dangarous, it will be taken into account, provided the cut-off value has been reached or exceeded. Thus, cut-off values define the limit when the addition of one or more classification-relevant substances is important for an appropriate evaluation of the end product.

The difficulty of declaring binding limit values lies in irregular updating measures in some countries.
