The implementation of the GHS in Europe is defined in two regulations: REACH (EC Regulation No. 1907/2006) and CLP (EC Regulation No. 1272/2008). Both are directly applicable in the EU member states and therefore do not need to be transposed into national laws.

REACH stands for Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation of Chemicals.

CLP stands for Classification, Labelling, Packaging.
